Job summary

The Cowley Group (TCG) is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join our M&A and strategic advisory team in a hybrid capacity. You will support client engagements across valuation, financial analysis, and due diligence, working closely with senior professionals to deliver strategic insights and execution support.

As a full‑time Analyst, you’ll help build complex models, prepare presentations, and contribute to market analyses while collaborating with leadership to drive high‑quality results

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (class of 2025 or earlier) with strong academic record in finance or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, consulting, or related field (exceptional new grads considered).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel financial modeling, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related discipline.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of M&A and strategic advisory engagements including valuation and analysis.
  • Build, maintain, and interpret complex financial models and assess performance and value creation.
  • Prepare pitch decks, market analyses, and client deliverables communicating insights.
  • Participate in due diligence and transaction documentation.
  • Research market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscapes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses supporting firm growth.

Your Role and Development

As a full-time Analyst, you'll play a key role in the execution of client engagements, working directly with senior professionals to deliver strategic and financial advisory services. You'll contribute across all stages of the M&A process—from initial analysis and valuation to due diligence and transaction execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of M&A and strategic advisory engagements, including valuation, financial analysis, and industry research.
  • Build, maintain, and interpret complex financial models to assess company performance, value creation, and transaction opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed presentation materials, pitch decks, market analyses, and client deliverables that effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Participate in due diligence processes and contribute to the preparation of transaction documentation.
  • Conduct research on market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscapes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership to drive high-quality results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses that support strategic initiatives and firm growth.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical rigor, attention to detail, and accountability for deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Base salary of $85,000 + competitive annual bonus
  • TCG is open to considering candidates outside of our core locations (Denver, CO; New York, NY) for a remote role, with expected ~1x/month travel.
