Job summary

Reval is seeking an Associate in Los Angeles to generate and develop early-stage deal flow through aggressive outbound sourcing and ecosystem presence. You will combine a recruiter-style sourcing mindset with venture investing, identifying promising founders early and initiating relationships.

You will run initial screening conversations, track emerging talent, and keep partners informed with timely updates as part of building a high-quality pipeline for the partner team.

This role is posted on behalf of the following client: An early-stage investment firm focused on partnering with exceptional founders at the earliest stages. The team is highly network-driven and active in the startup ecosystem, sourcing opportunities through deep community engagement and proactive outreach. This firm is building a strong pipeline of emerging builders—often before they formally begin fundraising.

Role Overview

This Associate role is focused on generating and developing early-stage deal flow through aggressive outbound sourcing and ecosystem presence. The position combines a recruiter-style sourcing mindset with venture investing, identifying promising founders early, initiating relationships, and running initial screening conversations to build a high-quality pipeline for the partner team.

What You’ll Do

• Drive high-volume outbound sourcing to identify and engage promising early-stage founders and build a consistent pipeline of opportunities.
• Represent the firm across conferences, meetups, and community events to expand the network and surface new founder relationships.
• Generate deal flow by conducting initial screening conversations with founders, tracking emerging talent who may not be raising yet, and proactively communicating insights and opportunities to partners.

• Highly proactive and comfortable with aggressive outbound outreach, relationship-building, and pipeline management.
• Well-connected (or excited to become well-connected) in the startup ecosystem through events, communities, and consistent networking.
• Strong communicator with sound judgment, able to identify what’s interesting early, run thoughtful first conversations with founders, and keep partners informed with clear updates.

Compensation

Salary: $150,000 – $175,000 / yr
