Job summary

Syufy Enterprises is seeking an Investment Analyst to join a Bay Area private investment firm. You will monitor investment manager performance, source new strategies, and liaise with managers and custodians to gather data for reports.

You will also help manage internal systems, cash planning, and tax estimation for long-term financial planning. Advanced credentials are preferred and knowledge of AI tools will aid daily workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
  • Advanced credentials (CFA/CAIA/CFP/CIPM or MBA) are preferred.
  • Understanding of asset allocation and portfolio construction.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems and data handling.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and evaluating investment manager performance to ensure alignment with objectives.
  • Sourcing new investment strategies consistent with portfolio objectives and constraints.
  • Liaise with outside money managers, custodians and consultants to gather information.
  • Help manage internal systems used for monitoring and reporting.
  • Manage cash investments and balances to meet liquidity needs.
  • Handle data capturing from custodians, managers, and products.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly investment reports for senior management.
  • Prepare tax estimation reports for long-term planning.
  • Identify process improvements and implement changes within the investment organization.
  • Formulate recommendations and drive changes.

ABOUT US:Syufy Enterprises is a fast-growing, financially strong Marin-based entertainment and leisure company that owns a variety of businesses, including high-end athletic clubs and spas, restaurants, golf venues, shopping centers, public markets and drive-in theaters. Over the next several years, the company will be rapidly expanding all its brands and looking to invest in new brands.POSITION SUMMARY:The Investment Analyst role is an opportunity to join a private Bay Area investment company, Pacific Marin Investments. The Investment Analyst reports to the Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for both investment operations functions and participating in the investment research and management process. The organization is responsible for the management of a significant asset base of private money.RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitoring and evaluating investment manager performance and activity to determine that it is consistent with stated methodology and objectives.Sourcing new investment strategies, consistent with portfolio objectives and constraints.Liaise with outside money managers, custodians and consultants to gather qualitative and quantitative information related to manager monitoring and investment analysis.Help manage internal systems used for monitoring and reporting purposes, including the portfolio management system and multiple databases.Help manage and evaluate appropriate cash investments and balances necessary to meet all investment and liquidity needs including investment deployment.Manage a variety of data, including capturing custodial, manager and product information accurately and in a timely manner. Identify issues, assist in reconciling differences, and report on findings. Raise areas of concern and propose solutions.Help prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly investment reports to be provided to senior management.Prepare tax estimation reports for long-term financial planning including capital gains and income analysis.Identify ways to continually improve activities, processes, operations, etc. for investment organization. Formulate recommendations. Assist in implementing and managing changes.QUALIFICATIONS:Highly organized and a self-starter. Excellent team player. Focused yet flexible. Excellent judgment.Typically 3-7 years of relevant industry experience.
