Job description

Job Summary : The Transaction Manager reports to the Director, Transaction Management and Support, and assists in strategic and tactical planning for transaction execution, including origination, deal management, due diligence, team coordination, closing, and integration across platform locations. The role emphasizes continuous improvement in investment and asset diligence, process efficiency, and knowledge transfer to support MIM Ag’s growth. The position supports a global agricultural platform, including traditional farmland and Farmland Plus investments. Preferred location is Boston, MA, with remote options considered. Periodic travel may be required.

Responsibilities :

1. 60% Acquisition / Disposition Management Activities :

• Maintain project checklists, deadlines, and updates with the project team, stakeholders, sellers, and vendors.
• Coordinate due diligence efforts with relevant teams.
• Review and oversee transaction documents such as purchase contracts, leases, environmental reports, appraisals, and tests.
• Lead the preparation and review of due diligence summaries and sign-offs.
• Develop client and internal memos and assist in presentations.
• Build rapport with operations staff and solicit input for budgets and due diligence review.
• Assist in closing and escrow processes.
• Support Farmland Plus team in evaluating opportunities.
• Maintain contacts with farmland owners, investment community, and vendors for market intelligence.
• Collect market data and monitor industry trends.
• Prepare deal pipeline reports and manage post-transaction records.
• Contribute to the development of spatial farmland data and industry intelligence.

25% Transaction Management Activities :

• Support sourcing and evaluating farmland transactions.
• Assist in negotiating and drafting LOIs, REPCs, and other documents.
• Monitor deal flow and team workload, assigning projects accordingly.
• Review and update process documentation and templates.
• Provide analysis and information to support underwriting, modeling, and funding requests.

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in transaction, project, or investment management.
• Knowledge of land records, appraisal, title, and environmental due diligence.
• Understanding of farmland across North America.
• Basic knowledge of real estate law and practices.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in discounted cash flow analysis and farmland valuation.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Knowledge of ESRI GIS or similar preferred.
