Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission in Texas is seeking an Investigator III to perform moderately complex investigations at the San Antonio State Supported Living Center. You will conduct field investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and injuries, collect evidence, and prepare comprehensive reports.

This role requires on-call rotations, testimony at hearings, and collaboration with HHSC-PI and law enforcement to ensure compliance with settlement agreements and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED (required).
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in criminal justice or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may work rotating or extended hours, including on-call for emergencies.
• Conducts investigations of reportable incidents and serious injuries to ensure prompt safety interventions.
• Collects and reviews evidence, interviews witnesses, and prepares concise investigative reports.
• Coordinates with HHSC Regulatory, State Office and law enforcement to complete collaborative investigations.
• Participates in root cause analyses, training, and committee work related to incident management.
