Job description

Job Title: Community Associate - 56057

The NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development is seeking a Community Associate to support community work and activities related to the department's mission. The role involves working with law enforcement agencies, conducting investigations, and engaging with community stakeholders.

Pay Range

The pay range provided by the department is from $44,545.00 to $51,227.00 annually, depending on skills and experience. With 2+ years of city service, the salary increases to $51,227.00.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in investigations related to organized crime, public wholesale market businesses, and commercial waste removal companies.
  • Conduct interviews, prepare detailed reports, and develop intelligence information.
  • Support law enforcement activities and community engagement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduation or equivalent plus three years of experience in community work or related activities; or
  • Equivalent education/experience as specified.
Additional Information

Eligible employees may qualify for federal loan forgiveness programs. NYC residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment, with some exceptions for employees with continuous city service.
