Required qualifications:

• Currently hold a Top Secret Security Clearance
• 1 year of background investigation or reviewer experience in support of a government contract
• High School Diploma
• 1 year of customer service experience
• 1 year of clerical experience
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Have availability to work within normal business hours
• Must be able to speak/type for extended periods of time and hear sufficiently to communicate over the phone; record, read and transcribe words and numbers with a high degree of accuracy

Peraton is seeking to fill several roles for a full-time Investigation Support Specialist for our Risk Decision Group. This position is 100% remote.

What you’ll do:

The Investigative Support Specialist will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

• Successfully complete a 2 week remote training
• Assist in conducting background investigations for the purpose of determining employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information
• Correspond in a variety of ways including telephone, email, fax, online and mail to obtain information required for cases assigned to them
• Perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational, financial, and employment institutions.
• Fully research/brief cases and are responsible for updating policies for obtaining records from record providers.
• Maintain accuracy in our agency database utilized by all departments within the company
• Routinely contact references for remote source interviews
• Multitask within multiple database systems at one time with accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare shipments for requests requiring USPS/FedEx/Fax
• Prepare payments by check or company credit card
• Interact professionally with others, type for long periods of time, meet expectations for attendance and punctuality, and pay attention to details while conducting daily work
• Type and report all obtained information in a clear and concise report on a government issued computer system
• Initiate contact with our subjects and provide guidance for next steps in the investigative process
• Interact with field staff and provide support to the timeliness of their cases
• Successfully maintain a government security clearance
• Work from a secure home office
• May work on assigned special projects and reports as needed
• Daily communication with team members and managers
• Accurate and efficient typing capabilities (40+ WPM recommended) and ability to work within multiple computer programs concurrently
