Job summary

Louisiana State Police is seeking an Investigative Specialist 1/2 for the Investigative Support Section. Position requires rotating shifts, weekends/holidays, and extensive training, with hands-on duties, public speaking, and analytical writing.

Qualifications

• Three years of law enforcement, investigatory, or gaming regulation experience required.
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field required.
• A bachelor's degree required or substitution: every 30 credit hours earns one year of experience (max 120 credit hours).
• Felony conviction or indictment disqualifies until relief is granted.

Responsibilities

• Requests, receives, compiles, and disseminates criminal intelligence data.
• Completes routine field requests and develops research, analytical, and system retrieval skills.
• Assists Investigative Specialist 2 or 3 in complex investigations.
• Performs background investigations of applicants seeking approval by the Office of State Police.
• Researches and analyzes intelligence or investigative reports and disseminates time-sensitive information.
