Job summary

Gray Television's Cleveland-based WOIO/WUAB stations are seeking an Investigative Reporter to join an aggressive team focused on accountability and in-depth local stories. You will dig into FOIA requests, analyze spreadsheets, build sources, and produce content for broadcast and digital platforms across multiple channels.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of broadcast investigative reporting experience in a small to medium TV market.
• Must be able to create content for all platforms.
• Degree in journalism or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Held the powerful accountable: use investigative instincts to uncover corruption, waste, and injustice, telling stories that demand change in Cleveland.
• Master the data: dive deep into spreadsheets and public records to find the 'smoking gun' that others miss, turning complex data into compelling, human-centric narratives.
• Build sources: develop and maintain a deep network of sources that gives us the inside track on the stories that matter most.
• Create for every screen: produce high-impact content across all platforms, from traditional broadcast pieces and digital shorts to long‑form documentaries and podcasts.
• Provide the 'Why': jump into breaking news situations to provide the deeper context and investigative 'meat' that explains not just what happened, but why it happened.
