Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support Investigational Drug Services and the handling of investigational drugs under pharmacist supervision. The role includes inventory, labeling, storage, and ensuring protocol compliance with regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with pharmacists, research coordinators, investigators, and sponsors to facilitate study operations while maintaining drug accountability and temperature controls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4 years as a pharmacy technician and 2 years in a specialized area are required.
• Licenses and Certifications: Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration as a Registered Technician or Pharmacist intern; Sterile Compounding (IV) certification; BLS.
• Preferred: PTCB certification (Certified Compound Sterile Prep Tech) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate drug accountability records.
• Inventory and temperature monitoring; coordinate drug returns or destruction.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, coordinators, investigators, and sponsors to support study operations.
• Adhere to GCP, FDA regulations, USP standards, and institutional policies for patient safety and compliance.
• Provide leadership to other technicians and coordinate daily workflow.
