Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) in Oak Harbor, WA is seeking an Inventory Technician to support Navy patrons and their families. The role focuses on accurate stock management, replenishment, and on-time inventory control.

You will use the Store Inventory Management (SIM) system, perform cycle counts, and ensure shelf integrity, price verification, and label accuracy, while handling items up to 40 lbs in varying weather.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate the Store Inventory Management (SIM) system to resolve receipt and transfer errors.
• Inspect and replenish products; review Not-in-Stock for Retail and Services.
• Conduct perpetual inventory and ensure planogram, price, and label integrity.
• Lift and handle objects up to 40 lbs; work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Maintain SOP compliance for inventory processes.

So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

• Utilizing the Store Inventory Management (SIM) system, conducting research to resolve errors related to store receipts, transfers in/out, replenishment, inventory adjustments, shipment confirmations, returns to vendor/warehouse, etc
• Inspects, replenishes products to include, but not limited to reviewing shelf Not-in-Stock (NIS) for Retail and Services
• Take inventory, execution and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Perpetual Inventory Management, Planogram Integrity and Price Verification and Label Integrity
• Lifting and handling moderate to heavy objects up to 40 lbs.
• Working both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions

The Qualifiers:

• A total of two years of experience or two year degree
• One year of experience in administrative, professional, investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.
• One year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment; knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

A total of 2 years of experience consisting of the following

GENERAL EXPERIENCE 1 year experience in administrative professional investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE 1 year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

OR

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One half year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of 1 year general and 1 year specialized experience.
