Job summary

The Navy Exchange Service Command is seeking an Inventory Technician in Oak Harbor, WA. The role focuses on inventory control, shelf replenishment, and use of the SIM system to resolve receipts and transfers while ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOPs.

As part of a dynamic team serving military customers, you will perform duties including stock checks, pricing verification, and compliance with planograms, with opportunities for growth and a competitive federal benefits package starting Day One.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in administrative or retail operations within an automated system environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations processes and inventory control methods.
• Ability to access computer systems, screens and print documents.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing the SIM system, researching to resolve errors related to receipts, transfers, replenishment and inventory adjustments.
• Inspecting and replenishing products, reviewing Not-in-Stock items for Retail and Services.
• Performing perpetual inventory management, planogram integrity and price verification.
• Lifting and handling up to 40 lbs.
• Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

• Utilizing the Store Inventory Management (SIM) system, conducting research to resolve errors related to store receipts, transfers in/out, replenishment, inventory adjustments, shipment confirmations, returns to vendor/warehouse, etc
• Inspects, replenishes products to include, but not limited to reviewing shelf Not-in-Stock (NIS) for Retail and Services
• Take inventory, execution and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Perpetual Inventory Management, Planogram Integrity and Price Verification and Label Integrity
• Lifting and handling moderate to heavy objects up to 40 lbs.
• Working both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions

The Qualifiers:

• A total of two years of experience or two year degree
• One year of experience in administrative, professional, investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.
• One year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment; knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

A total of 2 years of experience consisting of the following

GENERAL EXPERIENCE 1 year experience in administrative professional investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE 1 year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

OR

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One half year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of 1 year general and 1 year specialized experience.
