Job summary

Naval Air Station Lemoore is seeking an Inventory Technician to manage inventory and perform related duties in the Navy Exchange Service Command. The role focuses on maintaining accurate stock levels, researching and resolving receipt and transfer discrepancies, and ensuring SOP compliance on a dynamic retail environment.

The position requires experience in retail/merchandising operations, familiarity with inventory control in computerized systems, and ability to operate in various weather

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of experience in administrative, professional or responsible work within retail/merchandising operations.
• Experience with inventory control methods in a computerized environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations processes and ability to access screens and print documents.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the SIM system to resolve errors related to store receipts, transfers, replenishment, and inventory adjustments.
• Inspect and replenish products, review Not-in-Stock items for Retail and Services.
• Perform perpetual inventory management tasks and ensure SOP compliance.
• Lift and handle objects up to 40 lbs in varying weather conditions.

So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

• Utilizing the Store Inventory Management (SIM) system, conducting research to resolve errors related to store receipts, transfers in/out, replenishment, inventory adjustments, shipment confirmations, returns to vendor/warehouse, etc
• Inspects, replenishes products to include, but not limited to reviewing shelf Not-in-Stock (NIS) for Retail and Services
• Take inventory, execution and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Perpetual Inventory Management, Planogram Integrity and Price Verification and Label Integrity
• Lifting and handling moderate to heavy objects up to 40 lbs.
• Working both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions

The Qualifiers

• A total of two years of experience or two year degree
• One year of experience in administrative, professional, investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.
• One year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment; knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.

A total of 2 years of experience consisting of the following

• GENERAL EXPERIENCE 1 year experience in administrative professional investigative or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in retail or merchandising operations functioning within an automated system environment.
• AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE 1 year of experience which provided a knowledge of retail store operations processes and familiarity with inventory control methods in a computerized environment knowledge of computer systems and ability to access screens and print documents.
• OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One half year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of 1 year general and 1 year specialized experience.
