Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana, is seeking an entry-level Supply Chain Analyst to support inventory optimization, cost and price analyses, and PO generation.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to improve inventory turns and order-to-delivery performance while developing foundational supply chain and data analysis skills. This development path prepares for progression to MRC Coordinator and RSSM Coordinator within 1–3 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related field, May 2027 or within last two years.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations or Logistics highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with objectives.
• Develop and execute supply chain strategies to improve performance and service levels.
• Lead inventory and warehouse optimization initiatives to improve capacity and health.
• Identify and recommend improvements for the supply-chain process.
• Support lead time rationalization aligning system parameters to supplier lead time.
• Lead teams implementing pull replenishment strategies in Lean initiatives.
• Analyze inventory trends with LPAs and suppliers to reduce excess material.
• Support inventory optimization through disposition of excess/obsolete material.
