Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Vail, CO, is seeking an Inventory Specialist to ensure clinical teams have the right supplies at the right time. You will be part of our fast-paced supply chain, focusing on accuracy and service.

This role is Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with hourly pay. You’ll restock, conduct counts, and support continuous improvement while protecting patient care. Join a team that values accuracy, confidentiality, and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in healthcare, supply chain, or materials management.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must learn and use computers/digital systems within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory through restocking, cycle counts, and inventory control for assigned areas.
  • Review supply needs, prevent overstocking, and ensure efficient turnover.
  • Conduct physical counts and investigate discrepancies; update systems as needed.
  • Process supply deliveries by verifying quantities, expiration dates, and condition.
  • Respond to supply/equipment requests promptly and professionally.
  • Inspect equipment/supplies for expiration, recalls or defects; report issues.
  • Support bi-annual physical inventories and reporting for tracking.
  • Keep supply areas clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Propose ideas and assist department initiatives for improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Vail Health is looking for an organized and motivated Inventory Specialist to help ensure that our clinical teams have the right supplies at the right time. This position is Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm.

What You’ll Do

As an Inventory Specialist, you’ll be a key part of our Supply Chain team. Your day-to-day work helps clinical teams focus on patient care by making sure supplies and equipment are accurate, available, and ready when needed.

  • Maintain accurate inventory levelsthrough restocking, cycle counting, and inventory control for assigned areas.
  • Review supply needs, prevent overstocking, and help ensure efficient product turnover.
  • Conduct physical counts and investigate inventory discrepancies—updating systems as needed.
  • Process supply deliveries by verifying quantities, expiration dates, and physical condition.
  • Respond to supply and equipment requests—both routine and urgent—with prompt, professional service.
  • Inspect equipment and supplies for expiration, recalls, or defects, and report any issues.
  • Help manage bi-annual physical inventoriesand assist with reporting for supply tracking.
  • Keep all supply areas clean, organized, and well-maintained throughout daily operations.
  • Propose new ideas and assist with department initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all work.

What You Bring
  • Preferred:1 year of experience in healthcare, supply chain, or materials management.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Must be able to learn and use computers and digital systems within 90 days of hire.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay: $20.67 — $24.37 USD
