Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Inventory Specialist I/II to support aerospace production teams, ensuring materials, hardware, tooling, and resources are available for scheduled work. You will coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations, proactively addressing shortages and maintaining accurate material readiness.

The role is onsite on a 9x80 schedule for an initial 6-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

  • Experience tracking and maintaining inventory of hardware, tools, consumables, or production materials.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience supporting operations, manufacturing, assembly, integration, or production teams.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, operational requirements, or production schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve material shortages or inventory discrepancies.
  • Aerospace, spacecraft, satellite, aviation, or defense industry experience.
  • Experience supporting production, integration, test, launch, or mission operations activities.
  • Familiarity with hardware kitting, material staging, and production readiness processes.
  • Experience utilizing inventory management systems, ERP systems, or material tracking tools.
  • Experience managing calibrated tools and equipment inventories.
  • Knowledge of inventory auditing, cycle counts, and configuration control practices.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, clean room, or highly regulated environments.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), or work orders.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in mission-critical or schedule-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and operational requirements to verify material readiness.
  • Ensure all required hardware and consumables are available and tracked.
  • Coordinate calibration status of equipment and maintain organized inventory systems.
  • Act as primary contact for material/inventory needs on the production floor and resolve shortages.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to support mission success.

Job Description

We are seeking an Inventory Specialist I/II to support operations teams and ensure they have the materials, hardware, tooling, and resources needed to successfully execute spacecraft production, integration, test, and launch preparation activities. This role serves as a critical link between inventory, production, engineering, and operations teams to ensure work can be executed efficiently and without delays.The Inventory Specialist will support upcoming operations by reviewing work orders and operational requirements, verifying material readiness, and ensuring all required hardware and consumables are available and properly tracked. Responsibilities include managing inventory of adhesives, tapes, bolts, tooling, and other production materials; coordinating calibration status of equipment; maintaining organized inventory systems; and ensuring production teams have everything required to execute scheduled work.This individual will act as a primary point of contact for material and inventory needs on the production floor, proactively identifying shortages, resolving logistical issues, and working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to support mission success. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment supporting complex aerospace hardware.This position is an initial 6-month contract with opportunity to extend. This is an onsite position working a 9x80 schedule.Pay Rate $30-$50/hr
