Job summary

SpaceX’s Starlink factory is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support SMT operations, performing putaways, picking, line-side material placement, and inventory accuracy. A strong foundation in inventory control, forklift operation, and ERP systems is required to ensure timely kit fulfillment and material readiness for production.

The role requires ability to read drawings, manage lot traceability, and execute cycle counts while aligning with space-grade manufacturing standards and shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of inventory control experience.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain preferred.
• Experience with forklift and inventory equipment is a plus.
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle) desirable.

INVENTORY SPECIALIST (STARLINK)

We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and that work starts here with the Materials Management team.

The Inventory Specialist position supports the Starlink satellite factory. As Starlink continues to grow, we are expanding our inventory operation specifically for Starlink satellites. This role is specifically overseeing the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) area and will be responsible for completing putaways for inbound material, picking products for production, filling the lineside build locations with materials, putting finished goods into inventory, picking finished goods for customer orders, and ensuring inventory accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive, store and issue raw material, parts, details and hardware to support shop operations
• Store parts and materials in bins, VLMs, and racks, identifying part and stored location
• Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with procedures
• Perform picking function to make up necessary kits of parts, material and hardware as required, ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in kit
• Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity and revisions
• Issue material against approved paperwork such as affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing. Validate lot trace
• Abide by all procedures, desk instructions and standard operating documents
• Manage LCR testing and component measurement
• Kitting and de-kitting SMT feeder tables
• Manage schedule priorities and independently execute work to meet company deliverables while supporting the organization’s goals and objectives
• Perform good housekeeping chores in area
• Perform cycle counts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 1+ years of inventory control experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
• Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
• Experience operate a forklift and other related inventory equipment
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from layout drawings, mechanical/engineering drawings, assembly procedures, schematics and parts list
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be available for the one of the following shifts:
  • 1st Shift: Monday to Friday (5:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday (3:30 PM - 2:00 AM)
• Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Inventory Specialist/Level 1: $22.00 - $25.00/hour
Inventory Specialist/Level 2: $24.50 - $29.00/hour
Inventory Specialist/Level 3: $27.00 - $34.50/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
