Job summary

Red Boot Beverage is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support inventory control, receiving, cycle counting, and FEFO-based workflows across our warehouse operations. The role partners with the Inventory Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate records and timely material movements.

The ideal candidate will manage lot tracking, expiration-date controls, and ERP/WMS transactions while identifying efficiency improvements and upholding GMP, SQF, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in FEFO inventory management and lot tracking.
  • Proficient in cycle counting, inventories, and reconciliations.
  • Familiar with ERP/WMS systems and extraction of inventory reports.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inbound deliveries and verify quantities, quality, and condition.
  • Manage FEFO, lot tracking, expiration audits, and obsoletes.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and reconciliations with departments.
  • Record receipts, transfers, adjustments in ERP/WMS and generate aging reports.

Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for supporting inventory control, receiving, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and warehouse operations across the organization. The Inventory Control Specialist will work closely with the Inventory Manager, warehouse team, and cross-functional departments to ensure accurate inventory records, proper lot and expiration-date management, timely receipt and movement of materials, and compliance with established inventory procedures.

The Inventory Control Specialist will serve as a key resource for day-to-day inventory transactions and controls, including FEFO inventory management, lot tracking, cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, inventory reporting, and ERP/WMS transactions. This position will also identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement solutions that increase efficiency, accuracy, and accountability throughout the supply chain and warehouse.

  • Receiving & Inbound Logistics: Monitor, inspect, and process inbound deliveries to verify quantities, quality, and condition; collaborate with warehouse staff to organize stock into proper storage locations.
  • Inventory Control & FEFO Management: Manage inventory accuracy using FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles, lot tracking, and expiration audits; identify, document, and dispose of damaged, expired, or obsolete stock.
  • Counts, Audits & Reconciliation: Perform routine cycle counts, periodic physical inventories, and reconciliation tasks; investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in partnership with key departments.
  • System Administration & Data Integrity: Maintain real-time accuracy within ERP/WMS systems (e.g., NetSuite) by recording receipts, transfers, adjustments, and returns; generate weekly, monthly, and year-end inventory and aging reports.
  • Process Improvement & System Support: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement optimized workflows, bin locations, and scanning technologies; assist with WMS/ERP system enhancements and data integrity initiatives.
  • Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service to streamline workflows; write standard operating procedures and train warehouse staff on system usage and inventory protocols.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to and enforce all GMP, SQF, and company safety standards; actively participate in food safety and workplace safety initiatives.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems, ERP systems, and/or WMS platforms.
  • Experience with inventory transactions, cycle counting, lot tracking, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of FEFO inventory management and expiration-date controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze and organize inventory data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with warehouse personnel and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and process efficiency.
  • Ability to learn and train others on ERP/WMS systems and inventory procedures.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures and controls.
Work Expectations
  • This is a regular, full-time position with daily shift hours onsite. The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
  • Work will be performed in both a warehouse and office setting.
  • This position requires long periods sitting/working at a computer, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, confined spaces, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
  • This position requires long periods standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 25 pounds many times per day, while occasionally move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
