Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking an Inventory Specialist to oversee the designated program’s processes and procedures. The role focuses on large-volume and small-part inventory, data extraction, and continuous improvement to optimize turns and inventory dollars.

The candidate should organize large data sets and pull key information for decision-making, while collaborating with sales to meet customer needs and ensure timely purchasing and receiving processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and inventory concepts.
  • Familiar with industry and company standard practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and manages inventory levels to ensure turns and inventory dollars match guidelines.
  • Monitors inventory levels and conditions and resolves problems as they arise.
  • Provides knowledge on inventory levels, cost, etc. to assist sales meeting customer needs.
  • Ensures product availability and purchases best-priced product.
  • Works with sales to address needs and communicate market changes.
  • Assists monitoring, maintaining, and managing all purchasing programs.
  • Follows up on purchase orders to ensure on-time arrival and inbound traceability.
  • Follows up on receiving claims to resolve timely.
  • Monitors aged inventory and creates hit lists for sales awareness.
  • Coordinates with other locations to fix over/under-stock issues and maintain optimal levels.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Summary

The Inventory Specialist will be an important part of the inventory program. They will oversee the processes and procedures for the designated program and should be familiar with working with a large-volume and small-part inventory. Must be able to organize large amounts of data and be able to pull key information out of the data. A continuous improvement mindset will be important in finding the right candidate for this position.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities


  • Maintains and manages inventory levels to ensure turns as well as the percentage of inventory dollars to sales dollars remain within stated guidelines.

  • Monitors inventory levels and conditions and resolves problems as they arise

  • Provides knowledge on inventory levels, cost, etc. to assist sales meeting customer needs

  • Ensures that the product is available, and that the correct product, and the best priced product is purchased

  • Works closely with the sales department to help address their specific individual needs, make them aware of any inventory problems or concerns, and communicate major market changes as necessary.

  • Assists monitoring, maintaining, and managing all purchasing programs.

  • Follows up on purchase orders to ensure their on-time arrival. This is to include the tracing of all inbound products.

  • Follows up on all receiving claims and to make sure they are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Monitor aged inventory report and create "hit lists" so the sales department is aware of potential inventory problems.

  • Coordinate with other location's inventory management to rectify over and under-stock issues and to maintain inventory at optimal levels.

  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in related areas

  • Knowledgeable in Company accounting procedures and inventory management concepts

  • Familiar with industry and Company standard practices and procedures
