Job summary

MCC in Wisconsin’s Algoma area is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to manage incoming/outgoing shipments, verify paperwork, and support shipping operations. You will unload materials, prepare items for dispatch, and route them to the proper departments while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires forklift/pallet jack operation, physical endurance, and attention to safety. Teamwork, dependability, and accuracy are essential for daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak with customers.
• Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Physical ability to stand, use hands, reach, walk, bend, kneel, crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Pull customer orders and prepare related shipping documents accurately and promptly.
• Prepare skids or pallets for shipping and apply stretch wrap.
• Unload raw materials from trucks in a timely fashion.
• Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, log shortages.
• Route items to departments and scan into computer system.
• Operate forklift or hand truck to move shipments to storage or work areas.
• Compare item details against bills of lading and invoices to verify information.
• Prepare and route all incoming/outgoing articles for shipment to final destination.
• Schedule freight carriers for pickups and complete manifest paperwork.
• Coordinate with Customer Service to align shipping efforts.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
• Pick inventory for shipments from WIP and Inventory.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
