Job summary

Melwood seeks a Shipping Packer to support warehousing operations under the Project Manager. You will verify incoming materials, load and unload shipments, and route items to correct storage locations.

The role requires attention to detail, data entry, and strong communication with the team. Qualifications include a High School diploma, 1 year in a warehouse setting (DoD or federal experience preferred), ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; English

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Federal, DoD, or commercial warehouse/inventory setting.
• Sound judgment, foresight and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer email and word processing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; fluent in English.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with accuracy.
• Must possess or be able to maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Verify materials against receiving documents and report discrepancies and damages.
• Deliver and retrieve material from the loading dock.
• Route materials to storage locations and store per procedures.
• Remove materials from storage and prepare for shipment; report deterioration or damage.
• Maintain inventory records and update systems for receipts and shipments.
• Conduct inventories and ensure inventory records reflect activity.
• Verify incoming shipments by comparing invoices and storage receipts.
• Identify damaged goods and route to appropriate departments.
• Prepare and maintain records of goods received.
