Job summary

Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing in Ohio is seeking a Receiving Specialist to manage inbound materials and inventory in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You will process POs, receipts, and shipments, and coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Quality, Planning, and Transportation to ensure accurate records.

The role requires attention to detail, strong data-entry skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system is preferred.
• Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, inventory control, or logistics is preferred.
• Ability to interpret purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, invoices, and shipping documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process POs, inbound containers, and shipments in BC.
• Process intercompany and warehouse transfer orders with accuracy.
• Support Production DCC receiving activities and coordinate transfers to the warehouse.
• Coordinate DC Hub transfers to the DCC.
• Verify material descriptions and quantities align with documents.
• Inspect received materials for quantity, condition, lot numbers.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records in BC.
• Follow FIFO and lot traceability throughout receiving.
• Communicate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Quality, Planning, and Transportation.
• Report shortages, damaged freight, incorrect shipments, and documentation issues.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency.
