Job summary

Hunger Mountain Co-op is seeking an on-site Receiver to manage the intake of products from vendors, verify delivery accuracy, and support stocking on the floor. The role requires attention to detail, strong organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced coop environment.

Responsibilities include inspecting deliveries, counting items, matching UPCs, and communicating issues to buyers. The position emphasizes safety, proper use of the warehouse system, and cooperation with store personnel and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Physically receive vendor deliveries by unloading delivery vehicles as required.
• Ensure products received meet quality standards via brief inspections of deliveries.
• Validate received items against orders including counts and UPCs; use paperwork or systems to verify.
• Notify buyers of out-of-stocks, miss-picks, damaged goods and UPC changes.
• Identify discrepancies between vendor cost and purchase price.
• Utilize the HMC computerized system to perform duties.
• Work with store personnel and vendors to ensure compliance with receiving procedures.
• Maintain receiving and product staging areas in a neat, safe manner; assist stocking as needed.
• Process returns for vendor credit as advised by buyers.
• Maintain back stock in an orderly and accessible manner.
• Promote safety in the workplace and report safety concerns to a manager.
• Follow all department policies and procedures.
