Job summary

Sterling Commercial Roofing, aTecta America company, is seeking an Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator to manage inventory, place orders, and support Project Managers and Accounting. This role focuses on accurate ordering, timely delivery, and thorough documentation within a structured team environment.

Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with inventory data, Excel-based reporting, and vendor coordination in a construction-related setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory control, purchasing, supply chain, or a related role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with inventory or purchasing software. Experience with Navision a plus.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, or a similar industry.
• Understanding of inventory control and purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Track materials coming in and going out of inventory.
• Research and correct inventory discrepancies.
• Perform inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Work with warehouse staff to verify inventory levels.
• Monitor stock levels and help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Create and enter purchase orders.
• Track orders and delivery dates.
• Follow up with vendors on order status and shipments.
• Help resolve delivery issues and pricing discrepancies.
• Maintain part numbers, product information, and cost data.
• Support Project Managers with updates on open orders.
• Maintain organized purchasing and inventory records.
• Scan and file project documentation.
• Track vendor returns, credits, and refunds.
• Prepare inventory and purchasing reports.
• Use Excel and business systems to analyze inventory data.
• Assist with annual inventory counts.
• Help track obsolete or unused materials.
• Support inventory audits and provide documentation when needed.

We are looking for an Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will manage inventory, place material orders, work with vendors, and support our Project Managers and Accounting team.
