Job summary

System One in Hanover, MD is seeking an Inventory & Production Manager to oversee raw materials, finished goods, and production planning onsite. You will manage purchasing, vendor relations, pricing, and inventory integrity while coordinating with the Plant Manager to align schedules and customer lead times.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with ERP systems (Datacor), and CPIM knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inventory and purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
• CPIM certification beneficial

Responsibilities

• Review finished goods inventory and set batch tickets based on inventory levels and equipment limitations.
• Maintain inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies, negotiate with suppliers and order based on needs and lead times.
• Work with sales to manage inventory levels and product availability.
• Perform purchasing tasks, manage inventory, ensure quality control and on-time shipment of products.
• Build relationships with vendors and identify alternative suppliers as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of purchase orders and resolve billing discrepancies with accounting and vendors.
• Coordinate with Plant Manager to determine production schedules and communicate lead times to customer service.
• Monitor weekly POs and seek cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure vendor compliance and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain regulatory and compliance standards and inventory integrity.
• Coordinate inbound shipments and verify counts within 24 hours.
• Manage price lists and communicate changes.
• Establish accountability within the team for inventory management.

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00

Responsibilities

• Review finished goods inventory and less-than-minimum reports to produce batch tickets based on suggested inventory levels and equipment limitations.
• Maintain proper inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies, negotiating prices with approved suppliers, and ordering materials based on needs and lead times.
• Work with the sales team to manage inventory levels and coordinate product availability.
• Perform all purchasing tasks, manage inventory, ensure quality control, and ensure timely shipment of products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, seeking new or alternative suppliers as needed.
• Maintain accuracy of purchase order data, including items, quantities, due dates, and close all purchase orders from receiving, special instructions, and terms.

Requirements

• Strong people skills and positive attitude.
• Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Inventory and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (5 years preferred).
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
• Hands‑on experience working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in an advanced ERP system, specifically Datacor.
• Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) through APICS is beneficial.
