Job summary

Ulta Beauty, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Inventory Planning to lead a team of analysts responsible for forecasting, purchasing and allocating product across stores and e-commerce.

You will partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain and Finance to optimize stock levels, minimize stockouts and support omnichannel fulfillment. The role requires a BS and 5+ years in inventory/planning, with strong analytical skills and planning tool experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years in inventory management, merchandising planning, supply chain, or related roles.
• Exposure to multiple categories and/or channels; strong understanding of retail inventory operations.
• Experience leading or mentoring team members is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; track sales, inventory, turnover.
• Experience with planning systems: Manhattan DFIO, SAP APO, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, Anaplan.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with Merchants, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and vendors.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented; manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Excel; Power BI or SQL are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of analysts placing POs and allocating inventory across stores and e-commerce.
• Collaborate with Merchandising and Demand Planning to incorporate forecasts and trends.
• Coordinate with merchant pods to translate strategies into forecasts and stocking.
• Ensure inventory meets demand; minimize stockouts and support omnichannel fulfillment.
• Monitor inventory performance; identify variances and lead corrective actions.
• Align inventory plans with category strategies and business goals.
• Drive consistency and excellence in PO management, allocations, and replenishment.
• Translate data into actionable insights for leadership and partners.
• Support process improvements and automation to improve accuracy.
