Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking an Inventory Planning & Control Manager in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on governance of inventory policy, planning strategy, and performance across the CAG Materials network. The candidate will drive targets, controls, and accuracy of inventory while supporting IBP processes and customer delivery requirements.

You will own cycle counts, KPI dashboards, and cross-functional collaboration to improve cash flow and service levels in a regulated aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline required.
• 7+ years of experience in inventory analysis, financial analysis, or statistical/data reporting.
• Experience with IBP and concepts like demand/supply balancing, production planning, scheduling, purchasing, forecasting, inventory control.
• Experience using ERP and MRP systems; SAP preferred; SAP S/4HANA and Kinaxis a plus.
• Ability to analyze variances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
• Advanced Excel, including pivot tables, for data analysis and BOM decisions.
• Experience in regulated aerospace or defense manufacturing; AS9100, lot traceability, export compliance preferred.
• Certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPM, or PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own governance and control of inventory policy across the Commercial Materials network to optimize cash flow and working capital.
• Develop and maintain inventory targets, policies, and controls including safety stock and min/max settings.
• Represent inventory in IBP with positions, projections, and risk assessments during reviews.
• Drive near-term material availability through IT planning aligning with strategic plans.
• Monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights with executive-level dashboards.
• Identify inventory risks and ensure timely escalation and mitigation.
• Collaborate with Global Commercial Materials, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to solve constraints.
• Own cycle count strategy, governance, and corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve service while building capability.

The Inventory Planning & Control Manager owns the governance and control of inventory policy, inventory planning strategy, and inventory performance management across the Commercial Aircraft Group (CAG) Materials network. Supporting the OE Materials organization, this role aligns inventory policies and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes with customer delivery requirements, operational capacity, and working capital objectives.

Key priorities include optimizing global inventory levels, establishing inventory targets and planning parameters, improving cash flow and working capital performance, minimizing excess and obsolete inventory, driving inventory accuracy, and ensuring alignment between inventory strategy and customer demand. This position serves as the inventory owner within CAG's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) operating model, translating balanced demand and supply plans into actionable inventory policies and control routines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline required.
• 7+ years of experience in inventory analysis, financial analysis, or statistical/data reporting, with a focus on interpreting data to drive business insights.
• Working knowledge of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and operational concepts including demand and supply balancing, production planning, scheduling, purchasing, forecasting, and inventory control.
• Experience using ERP and MRP systems. SAP is preferred; SAP S/4HANA and Kinaxis experience are a plus.
• Ability to analyze variances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an understanding of how planning changes impact delivery commitments and working capital.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive accountability, and communicate effectively across the organization.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables to analyze data, present insights, and support multi-level BOM decisions.
• Experience in a regulated aerospace or defense manufacturing environment, including familiarity with AS9100, lot traceability, and export compliance, is preferred.
• Industry and discipline certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPM, or PMP are preferred.
• Ability to obtain access to United States export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Own the governance and control of inventory policy across the Commercial Materials network, balancing supply and delivery requirements against inventory cost to optimize global cash flow and working capital performance. Establish, implement, and monitor inventory management processes that support on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels.
• Develop and maintain inventory targets, policies, and controls, including safety stock, min/max settings, reorder parameters, and planning data accuracy within MRP, PCAS, and other materials management systems.
• Represent inventory within CAG's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process by providing inventory positions, projections, and risk assessments during Supply Reviews and Integrated Reconciliation activities. Translate agreed plans into actionable inventory strategies and decisions.
• Drive near-term material availability and inventory decisions through Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP), ensuring day-to-day execution remains aligned with strategic inventory and supply plans. Develop and implement strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory while maintaining customer service levels.
• Monitor inventory-related KPIs and provide actionable insights to leadership and value stream teams to address performance variances and improve operational outcomes. Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards covering inventory turns, days of supply, inventory accuracy, fill rate/OTIF, past-due inventory, and slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
• Establish processes and metrics that proactively identify inventory risks and ensure timely escalation and mitigation of issues affecting inventory performance and customer delivery requirements.
• Partner with Global Commercial Materials, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to identify constraints impacting inventory, evaluate business risks, and develop solutions across purchased and manufactured parts. Lead problem-solving activities and coordinate communication across sites.
• Own cycle count strategy and governance, including schedules, compliance, inventory accuracy, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing inventory costs, improving inventory accuracy, and enhancing customer service performance while advancing the technical knowledge and capabilities of the Commercial Materials Management team.

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $125,000.00-$165,000.00 Annually
