Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Inventory Control/Materials Associate for 1st shift. This onsite role handles receiving, stocking, issuing materials, and maintains purchase orders within our manufacturing systems. You will work within established procedures to ensure accurate inventory and efficient operations.

The position requires a high school diploma, 4 years in inventory/supply chain, and the ability to work full-time onsite in Columbus. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of material control, inventory, purchasing, and supply chain.
  • Onsite full-time work in Columbus, OH is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory movement and clerical duties (receiving, stocking, issuing materials, parts, supplies, equipment).
  • Follow established materials control, inventory, warehousing, and purchasing procedures.
  • Review work of others for quality where applicable.
  • Maintain material transaction records (receipts, transfers, issues, returns, shipments, adjustments).
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders in manual and computer systems.
  • Coordinate replacement of stock with procurement, and prepare reports/analyses.
  • Notify supervisor when replenishments are needed and escalate issues.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Performs inventory movement and clerical duties in the materials control area, such as (but not limited to): receiving, stocking, and issuing materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Work is performed in accordance with established materials control, inventory, warehousing and purchasing procedures.
  • Takes initiative to improve work product and processes. Adapts existing work methods to different situations
  • May be accountable for reviewing work of less experienced employees for quality and content.
  • Can resolve unusual, nonstandard problems; refers only significant deviations from approved policy/practice to supervisor or more senior level personnel for resolution.
  • Assures that quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Participates in cycle count process and physical inventories.
  • Creates and maintains all types of material transaction records, such as receipts, transfers, issues, returns, shipments, and adjustments.
  • Enters and maintains purchase orders (P.O.’s) in manual and computer manufacturing/business systems.
  • Coordinates replacement of stock and expenses items by interfacing with procurement personnel.
  • Prepares reports and inventory analyses as required.
  • May maintain and perform receiving, stock, and shipping duties per documented procedures. May fill requests for parts as required, and issue components or supplies as necessary.
  • Notifies supervisor of the need to replenish supplies/materials and of any difficulties that cannot be readily corrected.
SHIFT

This role is 1st shift, Monday - Friday, fully onsite

QUALIFICATIONS
  • HSD required
  • 4 years of experience within inventory control and supply chain
  • Must be able to work full-time onsite in Columbus, OH
  • Understanding of material control, inventory, purchasing, supply chain
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and demonstrated competence preferred
