Job summary

Atlas Copco Compressors LLC is seeking an Inventory Planner in Charlotte, NC for a hybrid role. You will coordinate stock levels, purchase orders, and supplier communications to ensure timely delivery of spare parts.

Reporting to the Inventory Planning Supervisor, you will collaborate with two other planners and cross-functionally across the service center. A strong background in SAP, Excel, and analytics is essential to optimize inventory and vendor performance.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in inventory control, purchasing, supply chain or logistics
• Experience with SAP
• Excel skills for complex spreadsheets
• Familiarity with production control software systems
• Analytical mindset with root-cause analysis
• English fluent; internal language is English
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders to maintain stock levels of spare parts
• Manage vendor due dates and adjust PO pricing
• Follow up with suppliers to obtain delivery commitments
• Identify shortages and take actions to ensure availability
• Expedite orders and craft alternatives to prevent backorders
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure on-time delivery
• Collaborate with service center departments to resolve PO/inventory discrepancies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Your role

As Inventory Planner, you will report directly to our Inventory Planning Supervisor and work with a team of 2 other Inventory Planners. You will be working in a Hybrid role #LI-Hybrid working from home 2 days a week and working in office 3 days per week. You will work in our South Charlotte location (about 3-4 miles from Carowinds).

Prepare purchase orders to obtain sufficient stock levels of spare parts

Process order acknowledgements, maintain vendor due dates in system, and update purchase order pricing

Daily follow up with suppliers to gain delivery commitments on open purchase orders through phone calls and e-mails

Proactively identify potential shortages and initiate actions to ensure availability of stocked parts

Expedites and devises alternative solutions to resolve back orders and schedule delivery of critical parts in a timely manner.

Build relationships with an assigned range of vendors to maintain a strong network of suppliers

Monitor and analyze vendor performance to ensure an on-time supply chain

Work cross functionally with all departments of the service center to solve purchase order and inventory discrepancies

Perform other duties as assigned

To succeed, you will need

2-3 years practical experience in inventory control, purchasing experience, supply chain, or logistics

Experience with SAP

Inventory control or purchasing experience

Understanding and skill set with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)

Familiarity with network and mainframe production control software systems

identify problems and use root cause analysis

Demonstrated ownership and resulted achievements of goals

You are fluent in English, as this is our internal language.

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

Keep commitment to customers (both internal and external)

Experience with analytics and associated tools (ie excel and pivot tables, power bi, etc)
