Job summary

Walgreens is seeking an Inventory Specialist to manage store inventory for both front end and pharmacy. You will ensure accurate counts, pricing, and timely replenishment, while supporting vendor deliveries and on-shelf availability across departments.

In addition to inventory duties, you will assist with opening/closing procedures, cashier responsibilities, and maintaining a strong customer service focus to resolve issues and improve the overall shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Must have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi task and manage execution.
• Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Responsibilities

• Executes, monitors, and trains inventory best practices and SOPs for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
• Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and returns.
• Champions On-Shelf Availability and handles planograms validation, pricing, and stock processes.
• Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including cash handling and POS oversight.
• Engages customers and delivers a positive customer experience; coaches team on service best practices.
• Executes and coaches warehouse and vendor inventory management processes; creates, reviews, and receives orders.
• Verifies pharmacy shipments posted for products received and reports shortages or damages.
• Completes On-Shelf Availability end-to-end processes for planogrammed departments; handles disposals, returns, and scan outs.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and compliance with state/local laws on regulated products.
