Job summary

Tobin Scientific is seeking an Inventory Operations Lead to maintain inventory accuracy, oversee daily warehouse activities, and ensure adherence to controls and standards.

You will lead Inventory Control Specialists, partner with Site Lead, drive improvements, and support customer service and safety in a temperature-controlled warehouse.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Life Sciences, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of warehousing/inventory control/logistics experience.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems and inventory software.
  • Forklift and OSHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily inventory control and warehouse activities.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Lead and train Inventory Control Specialists and warehouse staff.
  • Track and report inventory metrics; drive process improvements.
  • Serve as escalation point for discrepancies and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Assist with workload planning and prioritization to support operations.
  • Collaborate with Site Lead on improvements and standards.

Job Summary

The Inventory Operations Lead is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, monitoring operational performance, coordinating daily warehouse activities, and ensuring compliance with inventory control processes and standards. This role is accountable for inventory-related metrics, audit readiness, warehouse organization, and the timely execution of client requests.

Working closely with the Site Lead, the Inventory Operations Lead provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for Inventory Control Specialists and warehouse staff to ensure client needs and warehouse priorities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role also identifies opportunities for process improvement and supports initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily inventory control and warehouse activities to ensure client requests and operational priorities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Accountable for inventory accuracy and transaction integrity, including monitoring inventory performance, overseeing audits and reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Perform and oversee cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliations, ensuring inventory records remain accurate and audit-ready.
  • Track, analyze, and report inventory and operational metrics, providing recommendations to improve inventory control, warehouse organization, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for inventory discrepancies, operational challenges, and day-to-day warehouse issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, SOPs, inventory control standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and operational guidance to Inventory Control Specialists and warehouse personnel.
  • Assist with workload planning and task prioritization to support efficient warehouse operations and team productivity.
  • Partner with the Site Lead to implement operational improvements, standardize processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Serve as a backup to the Site Lead and assist with site leadership responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehousing, inventory control, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems and inventory software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Previous team lead, supervisory, or people management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and support employees in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Forklift and OSHA certification preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Work Environment:

This position is primarily based in a warehouse and may require standing, walking, bending, and light lifting throughout the shift. The role involves working in temperature-controlled or refrigerated environments as needed.
