Job summary

LifeScience Logistics in Indiana is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to lead and coordinate day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, and shipping of materials to support productivity and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with supervisory experience and knowledge of FDA/cGMP requirements. You will implement SOPs, train staff, and monitor safety and performance while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of distribution and warehouse management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Pharmaceutical warehousing and temperature-controlled knowledge preferred.
  • FDA and cGMP compliance familiarity.
  • Strong time management, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse personnel and activities.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, and shipping to meet productivity goals.
  • Develop process-improvement plans and SOPs.
  • Coordinate training on safety, forklift operation, SOPs.
  • Address discrepancies with customers and resolve issues.
  • Prepare work schedules and manage overtime.
  • Ensure warehouse security and safe housekeeping.
  • Generate daily productivity and reliability statistics.
  • Act as backup to Operations Manager when needed.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm (Weekends if needed)
  • Supervise and coordinate Warehouse Personnel and warehouse activities which include the receipt, storage, and shipping of materials to meet productivity goals, operating objectives, and warehouse maintenance functions.
  • Resourcefully and economically organize completion of day-to-day picking and loading.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies related to shipping, receiving, or inventory. Research errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop plans and programs for process improvement.
  • Coordinate new and current employee training to include, but not limited to the following: personal safety, forklift safety, warehouse policy and procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform adjustments as necessary during shift to operate within specifications.
  • Prepare work schedules to include, but not limited to work assignments/rotations, employee training, breaks, overtime assignments, and coverage for vacation/personal absences.
  • Ensure building is secure during scheduled hours.
  • Assign daily work load to Warehouse Personnel.
  • Supervise the basic fundamentals of warehouse safety and good housekeeping.
  • Confirm warehouse SOPs are being adhered to and handle corrective actions as necessary.
  • Address employee issues effectively and efficiently without preferences or judgment.
  • Compile daily productivity and reliability statistics for management.
  • Effectively supervise Warehouse Personnel performance and provide cross training when and as needed for personal development and company economic objectives.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Complete daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperwork.
  • Consistently inform Operations Manager of Commercial Operations of potential problems and changes.
  • Act as backup in the absence of Operations Manager of Commercial Operations.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by Operations Manager of Commercial Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Job Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years distribution and warehouse management experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a warehouse or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience with Pharmaceutical warehousing preferred.
  • Familiar with temperature controlled warehousing.
  • Familiar with FDA and cGMP requirements.
  • Demonstration of the following:
    • Effective time management skills.
    • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to conduct appropriate research as needed.
    • Attention to detail and organization.
    • Critical thinking.
    • Interest to work in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Expertise
  • Navigate through ERP system - Tecsys Elite, MQ1.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with warehouse or supply chain environments and transportation.
  • Ability to conduct/track graphical and data-driven analytics related to Client performance.
  • Ability to maintain and track budget/spending trends.
  • Advanced public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clear and Professional diction in English.
Additional Employment Requirements
  • Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen).
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical/Mental/Visual Demands
  • Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of 50 - 75 lbs. is required.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with shippers and employees.
  • Must be able to read at a distance, close to the eyes and at arm's length, with or without correction.
Working Conditions
  • Activities occur both inside (protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside.
  • Employee is subjected to extreme cold while supervising in the freezer.
  • Hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical part, electrical current and working in high places.
Equipment Operated
  • Equipment: Desktop, fax machine, copier, desk phone, forklift and pallet jack.
