Job summary

SMS group Brandenburg is seeking a Materials Specialist to manage inventory, forecast needs, and support logistics. You will quote with vendors, create purchase orders, and align with shop schedules to meet customer demand.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in materials, strong communication, Excel proficiency, and experience with purchasing systems. OSHA10 certification or willingness to complete after hire is desired.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in materials or purchasing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory levels to support operations.
• Coordinate quotes, orders, and PO creation with vendors.
• Plan material deliveries with shop schedules and customers.
• Maintain bill of materials and routings with project managers.
• Conduct cycle counts and ensure accurate inventory in GSS.
