Job summary

Our client in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a Material Planning Specialist to support materials control and warehouse operations. The role emphasizes accurate inventory records, data entry, and efficient handling of received and distributed items.

The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and familiarity with ERP systems. Training and development are provided within a collaborative team environment, with a first shift from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to follow instructions from senior coordinators verbally, by computer or in writing.
• Strong attention to detail and an organized approach; maintain accuracy in inventory and shipping tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Experience with inventory control or ERP software; ERP LX or BPCS is desired.
• Understanding of warehouse and inventory control principles with customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, count, label, and locate items received into stocking locations and items distributed from stocking locations.
• Support accurate inventory records by entering inventory transactions or providing data and source documents for timely data entry by others.
• Pick, inspect, count, label, package, and ship items routed from stocking locations while ensuring accuracy and undamaged delivery condition.
• Load and unload freight from trucks, trailers, and containers using forklifts and pallet jacks; distribute parts and materials to the appropriate teams.
• Participate in the Cycle Count Program by verifying inventory data, investigating discrepancies, and reporting findings to the Materials Control Supervisor or designated individual.
