Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a contract-to-hire Inventory/Materials Specialist in Heath, OH to review material requests, forecast needs, and ensure timely inventory availability. The role requires collaboration with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations to optimize materials flow and sourcing strategies.

On-site work in Heath, OH, with a focus on accuracy, data entry, ERP usage, and cross-functional communication to support maintenance and project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with inventory management and procurement processes.
• Ability to forecast material needs and coordinate with supply chain teams.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Review and process material requests to support business and operational needs.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain teams to understand upcoming projects and forecast material requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with Procurement, Expediting, and Operations teams.
• Evaluate cost-effective sourcing options using inventory, transfers, or external suppliers.
• Monitor open material requests and purchase orders for expedited delivery or alternate sourcing.
• Review inventory reports and investigate discrepancies or shortages.
• Provide training on inventory and materials management systems.
• Act as liaison between field operations and centralized supply chain teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve materials management processes and efficiency.
• Track and analyze KPIs and implement corrective actions.
• Procure critical or emergency materials for operational needs.
• Monitor material receipt, inspection, and hold processes for quality/compliance.
