Job summary

Metro Group Inc. is seeking an Inventory Manager to maintain inventory accuracy and implement effective controls across multiple locations.

You will work closely with yard leadership, operations, purchasing, sales, and accounting to ensure proper receiving, recording, storage, and shipping of materials. Key duties include coordinating physical counts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting valuation and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Proficiency with Excel and inventory reports.
• Experience with inventory software or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records across multiple locations.
• Monitor material movement and ensure accurate transactions.
• Coordinate physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
• Verify classifications, weights, locations, and downgrades.
• Reconcile inventory with scale tickets and shipping docs.
• Support inventory valuation and weekly/month-end reconciliation.
• Monitor aging and identify slow-moving or excess stock.
• Improve procedures to reduce errors and loss.
• Train staff on inventory procedures and practices.
• Travel to Metro locations for physical inventories and reviews.
• Promote safe work practices during counts and operations.
