Job summary

Accentuate Staffing is assisting a growing steel storage company by recruiting a Yard Inventory Manager to join their team. This direct-hire role oversees inventory, material movement, staging, shipping, and a 15+ person crew while ensuring orders are accurate, traceable, and delivered on time.

You will coordinate with customers and internal departments, maintain accurate records using WMS and Excel, and foster a safety-conscious, collaborative work environment in an outdoor yard setting.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience in manufacturing/warehouse or yard settings.
• Experience managing inventory, material flow, shipping and receiving.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with inventory/operating systems and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 15+ in a fast-paced yard.
• Oversee receipt, storage, movement, staging, and shipment of steel parts.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile with systems.
• Monitor orders, shipping schedules, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with customers, transportation, quality, production to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of 15+ employees in a fast-paced yard environment.
• Oversee the receipt, identification, storage, movement, staging, and shipment of steel parts and materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure physical inventory matches system records.
• Monitor orders, shipping schedules, inventory levels, and on-time delivery performance.
• Coordinate with customers, transportation, quality, production, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Ensure proper material identification, traceability, documentation, and compliance with customer requirements.
• Use inventory and operating systems, Excel, and other data to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, yard, logistics, or industrial environments.
• Experience managing inventory, material flow, shipping, and receiving.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working with inventory/operating systems, WMS, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work in an outdoor/non-climate-controlled industrial yard environment.
• Experience with steel products, material traceability, or government contracts is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
