Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an Inventory Management professional to oversee cycle counting and data accuracy in the distribution center. You will direct reporting on DEA-mandated processes for controlled substances and manage recall and disposition of products, while ensuring compliance with vendor returns and salvage procedures.

The role emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and collaboration with DC supervisors to maintain high service levels and cost-efficient inventory control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Degree preferred
• 3–5 years experience
• 3+ supervisory/management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

• Assigns, directs, and monitors the daily cycle counting operations for counting, verifying, correcting and documenting movement of products into/out of the distribution center inventory
• Processes reports required for movement of control products and narcotics per DEA regulations
• Validates and processes DEA documentation and class II customer returns
• Ensures morgue operations adhere to vendor return policies and policies to minimize outdated/damaged products
• Processes recall items
• Maintains item profiling, item descriptions, and barcode data in the system
• Coordinates with other distribution center supervisors to optimize warehouse operations
• Motivates staff to meet productivity and quality standards
• Recommends improvements to inventory control procedures
• Handles employee inquiries and problem solving
• Conducts interviews and recommends applicants to DC management
• Completes performance appraisals with DC management
• Trains new employees
• Prepares and submits daily/weekly reports
• Ensures compliance with security, safety, and housekeeping policies
• Maintains positive employee relations and adherence to company policies
• Delivers quality service to customers
