Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an inventory technician in Houston to receive, inspect, and record all hardware, racks, and packaging. You will maintain accurate records, perform regular stock counts, and coordinate shipments with suppliers and carriers.

Responsibilities include setting up server racks, handling basic tools, and ensuring safe, orderly operations in a data center environment. Previous logistics experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of logistics or inventory experience.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Ability to perform basic math and read safety instructions.
• Ability to lift and move items; forklift experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming inventory accurately.
• Maintain inventory records and documentation for received and shipped items.
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with suppliers and carriers for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging.
• Upload, unpack, and inspect shipments for accuracy.
• Transport inventory using material handling equipment with safety.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including docks and storage.
• Assist with disposal of packaging materials and obsolete equipment.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
• Collaborate with data center operations, procurement, and support teams.
• Assist in setup and installation of server racks per provided instructions.
