Job summary

MMD Shops Jersey City is seeking an Inventory Lead to own back-of-house operations, manage product intake, vault organization, and NJ-CRC compliance.

This full-time, hourly role offers $19.00–$21.00 per hour plus a daily tip pool, with overtime opportunities and employee product discounts. Growth from within is encouraged as you support store leadership and stock integrity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in inventory, receiving, or stockroom operations (cannabis, high-volume retail, pharmacy, or spirits experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with POS systems and spreadsheets for counting/auditing.

Responsibilities

• Product Intake & Receiving: verify counts, test labels, and packaging integrity.
• Vault & Inventory Management: maintain FIFO, organize vault to ensure freshness.
• Compliance & Audits: lead daily cycle counts and vault reconciliations per NJ-CRC (N.J.A.C. 17:30).
• Sales Floor Support: keep budtender drawers stocked with top-selling SKUs for a smooth customer experience.
• Quarantine & Discrepancy Control: document variances and handle returns per state guidelines.

What You’ll Do (Role Overview)

As our Inventory Lead, you are the backbone of store operations. You will manage incoming product, oversee vault organization, maintain 100% state compliance with the NJ-CRC, and keep our sales floor fully stocked with the products our customers love.

Key Duties:

• Product Intake & Receiving: Take charge of incoming shipments, verifying physical counts against state manifests, testing labels (CoAs), and packaging integrity.
• Vault & Inventory Management: Maintain a immaculate, organized vault space using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation to ensure product freshness.
• Compliance & Audits: Lead daily cycle counts and opening/closing vault reconciliations in full compliance with NJ-CRC regulations (N.J.A.C. 17:30).
• Sales Floor Support: Work closely with store leadership to keep budtender sales drawers stocked with top-selling SKUs for a seamless customer experience.
• Quarantine & Discrepancy Control: Identify and document inventory variances immediately and process returns or damaged goods per state guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 3+ years in inventory, receiving, or stockroom operations (cannabis, high-volume retail, pharmacy, or spirits experience is a huge plus!).
• Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with POS systems (Blaze, Dutchie, Treez, or similar) and comfort using spreadsheets for basic counting/auditing. Familiarity with Microsoft and its applications gives candidates a step up.
• Detail-Oriented & Reliable: Someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and high operational standards. We are looking for someone who can work with the General Manager to elevate in-store merchandising, increase store compliance, and take pride and ownership of the things they achieve.
• Requirements: Must be 21+ years old, able to pass required state background checks for NJ State Cannabis Worker Credentials through the CRC, and able to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
