Job summary

Cedar & Hyde Mercantile in Boulder, CO seeks an Operations Manager to oversee inventory flow across retail and e-commerce, ensuring accuracy from receiving to fulfillment. This hands-on leadership role combines daily execution with process improvement and team management.

You will manage inbound receiving, stock transfers, and online order fulfillment while coordinating with store staff and owners to keep product where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in retail operations, inventory management, e-commerce fulfillment.
• At least 2 years of experience supervising or leading a team.
• Working knowledge of Shopify.
• Comfort with spreadsheets, inventory reports, stock levels, and discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
• Clear, professional communication.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a small van.
• Ability to lift 20+ pounds and navigate stairs daily.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear inventory procedures that support accuracy and efficient daily operations.
• Oversee incoming inventory, verify shipments against PO/invoices, record quantities, resolve discrepancies.
• Enter inventory into Shopify following company standards.
• Coordinate distribution of new product across locations, backstock, and e-commerce.
• Lead daily online order fulfillment and oversee shipping in Shopify and ShipStation.
• Manage the returns process and reflect inventory changes.
• Supervise the inventory and fulfillment team, including training and scheduling.
• Collaborate with retail, e-commerce, buying, and marketing on launches.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and procedures.
