Job summary

FMS Aerospace in Huntsville, AL is seeking a temporary entry-level Inventory Data Clerk to support our inventory control team. The role combines physical stacking and counting with basic data entry in Excel, Word, and Teams to keep logs up to date.

You will identify parts, convert bulk stock into kits, label enclosures, and ensure digital records match physical inventory. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 0–1 year of manufacturing experience, and the ability to stand, lift up to 30

Qualifications

Job description

FMS Aerospace is currently seeking a temporary entry-level Inventory Data Clerk for our Huntsville office location. This role combines physical inventory handling with basic computer data entry. Ideal candidate will be responsible for pulling bulk parts, packaging them into kits, and utilizing Microsoft Office tools to accurately log data and communicate across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Part Identification: Accurately read and identify part numbers, lot numbers, and item descriptions on bulk inventory bins.
• Bulk-to-Kit Allocation: Accurately count, isolate, and transfer smaller quantities of parts from bulk containers into designated unit packaging to prepare kits for the production floor.
• Labeling: Apply clear, accurate labels (part number, lot number, and quantity) onto finished kitting enclosures.
• Data Entry: Enter part counts, lot numbers, and daily tracking info accurately into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
• Digital File Management: Navigate the company server to locate, open, and save inventory spreadsheets and shared documents in the correct folders.
• Team Communication: Use Microsoft Teams daily to receive task updates, message supervisors, and participate in brief team updates.
• Workplace Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized inventory storage area and verify that physical inventory matches digital logs.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, or GED
• Relevant Experience: 0-1 years’ work experience in a manufacturing or inventory setting
• Work Schedule: Be able to work 40 hours per week consistently
• Security Clearance: Must currently possess or be able to receive Department of Defense Secret clearance, if required
• Basic Numeracy: Ability to count small parts precisely.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 30 lbs.
• Basic Microsoft Office Literacy: Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets (opening files, entering numbers/text into cells, saving progress) and Microsoft Word.
• Microsoft Teams Competency: Ability to send chat messages, join voice/video calls, and check team channels for updates.
• Server Navigation: Basic understanding of digital file structures (how to locate folders, find files, and avoid accidentally deleting or moving files on a shared network).
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy when matching long part numbers and entering digits into the computer.
• Basic Numeracy: Ability to count small parts precisely.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing environment experience is a plus
• Familiarity with AS9100 compliance is preferred.
• DoD or Military experience is a plus
