Job summary

The Adecco Group is seeking a Financial Accounting Analyst for a 6-month contract in La Porte, IN. The position supports inventory and cost accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities.

Responsibilities include handling metal receipts, casting activity worksheets, and coordinating with finance to ensure accurate general ledger postings. Strong Excel, Oracle/AS400 experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 2+ years of finance accounting experience including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel and Access; solid PC skills.
• Experience with computerized reporting systems and internal controls.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate financial analysis for decision making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries from worksheets and maintain daily records for inventory elements; perform monthly reconciliations related to inventory reporting.
• Oversee metal receiving functions and maintain daily records to reconcile activity to inventory reporting and billings; book journal entries including cost variances.
• Maintain Cast House monthly melting and casting activity worksheets.
• Record activity by alloy and prepare and post journal vouchers.
• Review activity for reasonableness and obtain supervisor approval before posting journal vouchers.
• Participate in annual budgeting by line item expense category.
• Perform monthly detailed expenditure analysis; review GL activity for inaccuracies and prepare adjusting entries.
• Issue and maintain control of Physical Inventory forms.
• Perform monthly reconciliation between Oracle and AS400 and prepare adjusting journal entries; support Self-Assessment Tool processes.
