Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Finance/Inventory Accounting professional to lead inventory analysis, variances, and reconciliations to the general ledger. You will prepare monthly journal entries and work closely with audits to ensure GAAP adherence.

The role requires strong managerial accounting knowledge, experience with SAP and Crystal Reports, and a proven ability to deliver accurate, timely financial information. Collaboration with OPS US and cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills with knowledge of SAP, Excel, BPC AO and Crystal Reports.
  • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develops inventory analysis reports; analyzes variances; reconciles inventory accounts to the general ledger; prepares monthly journal entries as needed.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations.
  • Manages Cycle Count Policy; works with warehouse personnel and internal/external auditors to comply with SOX.
  • Coordinates multiple internal and external site visits to complete review requirements.
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external auditors; drafts responses stemming from audit outcomes.
  • Provides financial leadership and coordinates operational value stream financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting related to inventory.
  • Ensures accounting procedures conform to GAAP; partners with OPS US management; provides data for continuous improvement; tracks metrics and holds accountability.
  • Summarizes and communicates periodic and quarterly results with sites and management.
  • Analyzes inventory obsolescence; derives inventory reserves by business area; identifies inventory at risk and creates reserves.
  • Assists with year-end and other period-end processes, and performs ad hoc analysis and reports.

Experience Required

  • Strong analytical and computer skills; familiarity with SAP, Excel, BPC AO, and Crystal Reports (strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently, meet deadlines, and work additional/flexible hours as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance + 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
