Job summary

Risus Talent Partners is seeking an Inventory Controller for a medical-device manufacturer in Billerica, MA. This hands-on role focuses on D365 Warehouse Management to troubleshoot orders, manage inventory flow, and support warehouse operations.

You will monitor order activity, resolve delays, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize fulfillment processes. A strong background in high-volume distribution and ERP systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily domestic and international order activity.
• Identify and resolve incomplete, delayed, or blocked orders.
• Troubleshoot inventory reservations, allocations, replenishment, and location issues within D365.
• Determine why inventory is not being released for picking or shipping.
• Replenish inventory within shipping and picking locations.
• Monitor and adjust replenishment parameters and inventory levels.
• Investigate recurring order-flow and fulfillment problems.
• Reduce manual workarounds by addressing underlying system or process issues.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for D365 warehouse and fulfillment processes.
• Support inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy.
• Partner with warehouse, shipping, customer service, operations, and IT teams.
• Train and assist warehouse employees with system processes and troubleshooting.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide hands‑on warehouse and inventory support when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a systems-focused inventory position within a fast-paced shipping environment. Approximately 80% of the role involves troubleshooting order and inventory issues within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management, while approximately 20% involves hands-on warehouse and inventory support.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using D365 to identify and resolve fulfillment issues, maintain inventory flow, support warehouse employees, and improve operational processes.

Required Qualifications

• At least four years of warehouse, distribution, inventory‑control, or fulfillment experience.


• Three to five years of hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience.


• Experience working with an ERP or Warehouse Management System.


• Experience in a high‑volume shipping and distribution environment.


• Strong understanding of inventory management, order fulfillment, picking, replenishment, and shipping processes.


• Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.


• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.


• Ability to work independently and collaborate across warehouse, operations, and technical teams.


• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, operations, information systems, or a related field.


• Experience within the medical‑device industry or another regulated environment.


• Experience with D365 Warehouse Management configurations and workflows.


• Familiarity with inventory reservations, location directives, work templates, wave processing, replenishment, mobile‑device menus, inventory statuses, batch or serial tracking, units of measure, and cycle counting.


• Experience supporting a D365 implementation, system upgrade, testing process, or post‑go‑live environment.


• Experience leading process‑improvement initiatives.


• Experience training, coaching, or supporting warehouse employees.
