Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to lead all Inventory Control activities for the designated distribution center, directing the Inventory Control team to maintain standard processes and ensure training on policies.

Responsibilities include supervising the warehouse inventory control team, providing coaching, collaborating with Process Leader to improve accuracy and security, and maintaining a bin verification program while safeguarding inventory.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of leadership experience required.
  • One to three years of inventory control experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight, direction and accountability to all Inventory Control processes and ensures team adherence to company policy and procedure.
  • Supervises the distribution center inventory control team to improve individual and overall team performance.
  • Provides performance coaching, feedback, and counseling.
  • Collaborates with Inventory Control Process Leader to develop procedural recommendations to improve accuracy and safeguarding.
  • Develops programs to maintain security of managed inventory and limits access to authorized personnel.
  • Ensures supervision and separation of duties to protect against theft or mismanagement.
  • Manages coordination of physical inventories for assigned distribution centers.
  • Establishes and maintains a bin verification program aligned with policy.
  • Documents customer-specific SOPs and submits for approval.

For internal teammates, a compensation percentage increase will be reviewed and determined in partnership with HR, taking into consideration internal equity and relevant experience.Shift: 6am – 3pm Monday _ Friday plus overtime as neededJob SummaryThe Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for all Inventory Control activities for assigned distribution center and provides daily direction to the Inventory Control team to ensure consistent processes. This position ensures that the published company Inventory Control policies and procedures are implemented in a standard manner and that all Inventory Control teammates have been trained on the policies and the specific execution of related procedures.Core ResponsibilitiesProvides oversight, direction and accountability to all Inventory Control processes and ensures team adherence to company policy and procedure.Supervises the distribution center inventory control team to improve individual and overall team performance.Provides performance coaching, feedback, and counseling.Collaborates with Inventory Control Process Leader to develop procedural recommendations intended to improve the overall accuracy, safeguarding, and efficient handling of all managed inventory.Develops programs to maintain tight security specific to managed inventory and works with local distribution center management to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to product and records.Ensures adequate supervision and separation of duties to protect against issues of theft, negligence, or gross mismanagement.Manages overall coordination of scheduled or requested physical inventories for assigned distribution centers.Establishes and maintains a viable bin verification program, consistent with company policy and procedure.Documents any customer specific Standard Operating Procedures, ensures they are consistent with company policies and procedures, and submits them for approval by the Vice President of Inventory Performance.Continuously reviews inventory functions to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy of processes in a dynamic environment.
