Job summary

Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing is seeking an Inventory Clerk to help keep materials accurate, organized, and available to support daily manufacturing operations. The role focuses on cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, processing inventory transactions, and maintaining accurate records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC.

Reporting to the Materials and Production Scheduling Manager, you’ll work closely with Production, Warehouse, Planning, Purchasing, and Quality to maintain inventory accuracy, support

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in inventory control, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred.
• Strong data entry skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Understanding of inventory transactions, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized with attention to detail.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts per the inventory control program.
• Reconcile physical counts with BC records.
• Investigate shortages, overages, missing materials, and discrepancies to identify root causes.
• Verify inventory quantities, locations, and lot numbers, maintaining traceability.
• Process return-to-stock transactions from completed production orders and support inventory transactions.
• Make inventory adjustments with proper documentation and manager approval.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and identify recurring issues.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical inventory and receiving records.
• Recommend process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
