Job summary

Van-Am Tool & Engineering in St. Joseph, MO is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to help maintain accurate inventory and ensure materials move efficiently throughout our manufacturing operation.

The role combines computer-based inventory control with hands-on activity on the shop floor. It offers a 4-day workweek with four 10-hour days, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of inventory control or material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Epicor preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage material movement from receiving through work-in-process and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions in our ERP/MRP system; Epicor experience.
• Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory to system records.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and help implement corrective actions.
• Ensure materials are properly labeled, identified, stored, and located.
• Maintain organization and control of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
• Accurately process inventory transfers, adjustments, and other transactions.
• Maintain records supporting inventory accuracy, traceability, and ISO/AS9100 requirements.
