Job summary

Cumberland Farms, Inc. is hiring an Inventory Analyst to ensure store‑level inventory accuracy, vendor invoicing, and margin integrity. You will reconcile high‑volume credits and deliveries, resolve invoice issues, and support cross‑functional teams to maintain data integrity.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Store Operations, Accounts Payable, and Retail Accounting, with a focus on accurate reporting and process improvements. Bachelor's degree preferred; Oracle of PDI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in business or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred for advancement.
  • 1 year of office experience; proficient in Excel.
  • 3+ years of office experience; working knowledge of PDI.

Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly paperwork to post site activity to inventory subledger and support monthly close.
  • Reconcile ~600 distributor credits weekly to store credits for margin accuracy.
  • Review and correct store credit requests before submission to McLane.
  • Reconcile ~600 direct vendor deliveries weekly against scan and paperwork data.
  • Collaborate with Pricebook to resolve margin-impact issues on ~150 vendor invoices weekly.
  • Support Store Managers by correcting and submitting vendor invoices and triaging IT tickets.
  • Ensure third‑party inventory audits are posted into PDI accurately.
  • Use AP tools and coordinate with Accounts Payable on invoice accuracy.
  • Monitor price changes, shrink, margins, and waste variances.

Position Summary:

This role ensures the accuracy of store‑level inventory, vendor invoicing, and margin‑related transactions by reconciling high‑volume credits and deliveries, resolving invoice and paperwork issues, and validating third‑party inventory audit results. It supports store operations through issue resolution and reporting, monitors key financial metrics such as shrink, margins, waste, and negative inventory, and partners with cross‑functional teams to maintain data integrity and drive operational accountability.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage weekly paperwork updates to ensure accurate posting of site activity to the inventory subledger and support timely monthly GL close.

2. Reconcile approximately 600 distributor credits each week to store credit requests, ensuring margin accuracy.

3.Review and correct store credit requests prior to submission to McLane.

4.Reconcile roughly 600 direct vendor deliveries weekly against store scan and paperwork data.

5.Partner with the Pricebook team to resolve margin‑impacting issues on approximately 150 vendor invoices per week.

6.Support Store Managers by correcting and submitting vendor invoices and triaging IT ticketing requests to the appropriate team.

7.Ensure third‑party inventory audit results are accurately posted into PDI.

8.Use the AP reconciliation tool and collaborate with Accounts Payable to validate invoice accuracy and investigate discrepancies.

9.Monitor price changes, shrink, margins, and waste variances outside established thresholds.

10.Investigate negative inventory issues.

11. Prepare and distribute routine and ad hoc operational reporting for District Managers, Regional Managers, and Divisional Vice Presidents, highlighting store‑level issues such as cash and lottery variances.

The above responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with documented company policies and procedures. All of the above will be accomplished collaboratively but will also provide opportunities for independent decision making.

Working Relationships:

This position will work closely with Store Operations, Accounts Payable, Retail Accounting, Marketing, Field Audit and IT

Minimum Education:Associate’s degree in business or related
Preferred Education:Bachelor’s degree in business or related
Minimum Experience:1 year of office experience; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite primarily Excel
Preferred Experience:3+ years of office experience, Working knowledge of PDI and good problem solving skills

  • Highly organized with an attention for detail
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision on routine tasks
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment
Travel:No travel required
Hours & Conditions:Typically Monday – Friday, 8 hour days in office setting
Physical Requirements:Minimal physical effort required; sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
