Job summary

Young Innovations seeks an Inventory Control Specialist to keep materials, inventory, data, and shipments accurate and available for production. You will partner with Materials, Production, and Warehouse teams to support daily operations and drive accuracy across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory control or manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with production data systems (e.g., IFS) is a plus.

• Inventory Control: conduct weekly cycle counts and investigate variances.
• Production Support: issue, stage, and coordinate materials for production orders; maintain records and KPIs.
• Shipping & Warehouse Support: pick and process daily shipments; support receiving and material handling.
• Cross-Functional Support: partner with Materials, Production, and Warehouse teams on daily operations and process improvements.

Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly by maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating materials, supporting production, and processing shipments. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving problems and working across teams.

Who You’ll Work With

• Report to the Materials Manager and partner closely with the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Work daily with Materials, Production, and Warehouse teams to support manufacturing and shipping needs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain inventory accuracy and keep materials and information flowing efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Inventory Control
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts and investigate inventory variances.
  • Issue, stage, and coordinate materials for production orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and identify opportunities to improve accuracy.
• Production Support
  • Generate and process travelers, work instructions, labels, and shop order documentation.
  • Enter and maintain production data in IFS, including KPIs, OEE, and MRB.
  • Prepare reports and investigate data or documentation discrepancies.
• Shipping & Warehouse Support
  • Pick, prepare, and process daily small parcel and LTL shipments.
  • Provide backup support for receiving, material handling, production line supply, and purchase orders.
• Cross-Functional Support
  • Partner with Materials, Production, and Warehouse teams to support daily operations.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and other operational projects as needed.
